Retired Judge Patricia Macias (El Paso, Texas) and formerly Managing Director of Casey Family Programs Judicial Engagement Team joins the podcast for the second of two episodes regarding the Family First Prevention and Safety Act that was passed by the United State Congress and signed into law by President Trump in February 2018. This episode was recorded in December 2018 and is still relevant as Colorado formulates and decides on plans to implement this legislation, in particular, Judge Macias provides a perspective on how courts and the legal community can apply a prevention approach. Judge Macias retired from Casey Family Program Judicial Engagement Team in January 2020.
